Obviously there is strength to be found in a community that has a common background and desire to understand its origins.

This Society exists to help British Baptists' self-understanding through a variety of ways. The Society has a primary interest in locating and making available Baptist records. This involves encouraging people to find and transcribe old church books and documents. Some of these have been published by the society, with many primary sources stored in Public Record Offices, and also in our national Baptist archive, housed in the Angus Library at Regent’s Park College, Oxford. Some of these records are published in our quarterly journal, The Baptist Quarterly, published since 1908.

Other primary and published records can be found in various Baptist Colleges, and many churches within the Baptist Union of Great Britain keep their own records locally.
